Hance, Joseph "Joe"

Funeral services for Joe Hance, 48 years old, who died Saturday at Southwest City Missouri, were conducted at 2 this afternoon at the First Baptist church. The Rev. C. E. Bergen, pastor of the church, officiated. Burial was in Hillcrest cemetery at Galena Kansas, under direction of the Durnil funeral home. Pall bearers were Jess Karr, Roy Howerton of Baxter Springs Kansas, Don Hance, George McDermott, Albert Hale and Henry Sexton. Mr. Hance had lived here a number of years previous to moving to Southwest City three years ago. For 10 years he was employed as a hoisterman at the Big Chief Mine. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Jessie Hance, and one daughter, Mrs. Alberta Callier of Southwest City Missouri.
