Abstract Data

Claude W. Haines, a 52 year old resident of Picher died at 7 o'clock Saturday morning at his home, 214 East Ninth Street, Picher. He was a veteran of World War I and worked for the Davis Big Chief Mine for 15 years until he became ill about a year ago. He had been a resident of Picher for more than 20 years. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. May Haines of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Ellen Heltzel and Mrs. Nellie Whitney, both of Picher, and four grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at the Pentecostal church in Douthat Oklahoma at 2:00 o'clock, Monday with Rev. Jackson officiating. The American Legion post of Picher conducted a military service at the grave in the G.A.R. cemetery at Miami. Burial was under the direction of Goodson-Durnil funeral home.
