We were wondering how Johnny is going to move the shaft, which is a part of his air-conditioning equipment, when he transfers his office from Picher Oklahoma to Cardin Oklahoma. We asked Johnny about this and he says, "Why I'll just dig it up and transplant it."

GROOMS - Hubert C. 'Doc' Grooms - 66 year old mining field truck driver, died at his home, 211 West B Street, at 10:30 a.m. today. He had been in ill health since he quit work after the mines closed last June. A resident of Picher Oklahoma since 1921, Grooms was employed as a teamster by mining companies before trucks replaced teams in hauling lead and zinc ore. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ethel Grooms of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Bill Delcour of Picher, and Mrs. Iva Mae West of Wichita Kansas; two sons, Hubert Buddy Grooms of Picher and Aubrey Grooms, address unknown, and a brother, Johnny Grooms of Huntington Beach California. Arrangements for services and burial will be announced by the Thomas funeral home of Picher.

Funeral services for Hubert C. 'Doc' Grooms, who died Tuesday at his Picher home, will be held at 2 p. m. Thursday at the Thomas funeral home chapel. The Rev. Henry Ford will officiate. Pallbearers will be W. C. Best, Wayne Delcour, Chester Hart, Clifford Fairman, Guy Carnes and Harrison Norman. Burial will be in G.A.R. cemetery. The body will lie in state at the chapel until the funeral hour.
