Final rites for Benjamin Franklin Grigsby, 79, long-time resident of Fairland Oklahoma, who died in the Mary's nursing home in Baxter Springs Thursday afternoon, will be conducted in the Kingdom Hall at Baxter Springs Kansas at 2:30 p.m. Monday. Don Elleman will officiate. Grigsby, popularly known as Ben' to most Fairlanders and among close friends as Senator,' at one time was a lead and zinc operator in the Picher Oklahoma field. His mining career was confined largely to the mid-20's. After residing at Douthat Oklahoma, he moved to Fairland in about 1930. Burial will be in the cemetery at Galena Kansas, under direction of the Wene funeral home of Baxter Springs. Grigsby is survived by a sister, Mrs. Leona Ryan of Baxter Springs, and a brother, Bill Grigsby of Shreveport Louisiana.
