Miami, died at 10:13 pm Thursday, Feb 11, 1999, at Miami Baptist Regional Health Center after an illness. He was 77. Mr. Green was born November 20, 1921, in Fayetteville Arkansas to Ottis M. Green and Annie Green. He lived in the Miami and Commerce Oklahoma area most of his life. He was a graduate of Commerce Oklahoma High School, class of 1941, and served in the army during World War II. Mr. Green was a retired 35 year employee of the B. F. Goodrich plant in Miami. He also worked for the Commerce Mining Company in 1936; as a meat cutter for Safeway, and as a meat market manager for Kroger Food Store in Carthage Missouri. He was a member of the Miami V.F.W. post since 1943, and attended the First Baptist Church in Miami. Mr. Green married Helen Marie Taylor on Jul 10, 1963, in Picher. She survives, of the home. Additional survivors include two sons, Harley Sears, Picher Oklahoma and Charlie Sears, Miami, two daughters, Glenda Kay Conrad, Miami and Cathy Jay Green, Miami; 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 2 nephews and 2 nieces. The funeral service will be held at 2 pm Tuesday, Feb 16, 1999, in the Guilford-Thomas funeral home in Miami with Rev. Bob Barker, officiating. Military graveside rites will be conducted by members of the Northeast Oklahoma Veterans' Funeral Detail at the G.A.R. cemetery in Miami, under the direction of the Guilford-Thomas Funeral Home of Miami. Pallbearers will be members of the Northeast Oklahoma Veterans Funeral Detail.
