Miss Mary Baird of Picher Oklahoma and George Goade of Baxter Springs Kansas, were married at 8 o'clock Sunday night at the home of the latter's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clint Goade of Baxter Springs. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Baird, Whitebird addition, and was graduated this spring from Picher Oklahoma high school. Mr. Goade finished his education at the Treece Kansas schools and is employed at the Tom Brown Mine. The young couple are well known among the younger set of Picher and district. Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Cordelia Goade, 19 years old, and her infant daughter, Marland Sue Goade, will be conducted at 2 o'clock this afternoon at the Union church with the Rev. H. Ellis Ogden of Baxter Springs officiating. Burial will be in G.A.R. cemetery, at Miami, with the Todd undertaking company in charge. The mixed quartet of the high school in the year 1934-1935 will sing. This quartet is composed of former schoolmates of Mrs. Goade, namely, Mrs. Imogene Irwin, Dorothy McGee, Maydene Carrithers, Emily Rader, Dixie Henry and Ellen Mae Best. Flower girls will be June Welch, Delia Marney, Elsie Frisbie, Ruth Bagain, Mary O'Bannon, Lorene Stevenson and Mable Phillips. Mrs. Beulah C. McConnell will play a violin solo, and will be accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Ruth Washburn. Mrs. Goade, who formerly was Miss Mary Baird, died at 8:15 o'clock Friday morning at the Picher hospital. Her death followed that of her infant daughter, who died at 1 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the hospital. She was graduated from Picher high school with the class of 1935. Surviving are her husband, George Goade; her father James Baird of Picher; four sisters, Mrs. Violet Walker and Mrs. Iva Parsons of Badger Kansas, Mrs. Pansy Norris of Chetopa and Mrs. Goldie Davis of Picher and two brothers, Millard Baird and Martin Baird of Picher.
