37 years old, died at 11:40 pm Sunday at his home in Treece Kansas. He had been a miner for the last 14 years and was employed at the Federal Jarrett Mine, prior to his death. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Nellie Gilstrap; two sons, Junior Gilstrap of the home and Richard Gilstrap of Fort Scott Kansas; a daughter at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jake Gilstrap of Racine Missouri; three brothers, Olphus Gilstrap and Fred Gilstrap of Racine, and June Gilstrap of Washington, and Mrs. Olive Gillett of Treece Kansas. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Tuesday at the Treece Methodist church...Last rites will be conducted at 3 pm tomorrow at Racine. Pallbearers will be Fred Dorrell, Ted Schasteen, Russell Host, Buster Posey, Frank Smithson and Howard Wingfield. Burial will be under direction of the Durnil funeral home.
