Gibson, superintendent in charge of operations is moving a drag from the Tulsa Mine tailings pile to the West Virginia Mine pile and a track is now being laid from the mill to the West Virginia tailings pile. The company expects to start the operation of the drag and the "dinky" locomotive on Wednesday of this week to convey the tailings from the West Virginia pile to the mill. A power shovel and trucks are now being used. The Atlas Milling Company, located east of Picher Oklahoma was closed down on Dec 3rd of last year and has operated only during the months of March and April since that time. Three eight hour shifts are now being worked at the mill, which has a capacity of approximately 80 tons to the hour. Prior to the opening of the plant, a general repair program was carried out. Vern Yates is foreman of the mill and Ora Folk and Oscar Brandon are the shift foremen.
