Funeral services for Jacob J. Gentes, 76 years old, a former Miami resident who died Wednesday night at his Webb City Missouri home, will be conducted at 2:30 pm Saturday at the Hedge-Nelson funeral home in Webb City Missouri. Mr. Gentes, a retired mine operator, had resided in Webb City for 40 years. He was born in Berlin, Germany, coming to the United State with his parents when he was two years old. Surviving him are his wife; three sons, Prentice Gentes and Grant Gentes, both of Webb City, and D. O. Gentes of Miami; three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Bruce of Webb City, Mrs. Nadine Whitenback of Joplin Missouri, and Mrs. Dorothy Wright of Miami; a brother, Daniel Gentes of Sibly Illinois; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Pruett of Gibson Illinois and Mrs. Lena Tappanna of Webb City; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Mr. Gentes was engaged in the mining business when he resided in Miami a number of years ago. Burial will be in the Mt. Hope cemetery, near Webb City.
