Gerhart, Samuel C.

Commerce Oklahoma, died Sunday, Jun 18, 2000, at St. Johns Regional Medical Center, Joplin Missouri, after an illness. He was 82. Mr. Gerhart was born Jan 27, 1918, in Picher Oklahoma to Carol Gerhart and Nanna Mathison Gerhart. He was a retired mine/mill operator for Eagle- Picher Mining and Milling Company and had been employed by Newell Coach company. He was a member of North Miami Assembly of God church. He married Virginia Lee Osburn on Dec 23, 1939, in Picher. She survived, of the home. Additional survivors include a sister, Bernice Runer, Wichita Kansas; three cousins, Ivan Gerhart, Carol Gerhart and Freddie Gerhart, Stratton; and several nieces and nephews. The service is 2 pm Wednesday, at the North Miami Assembly of God Church, with the Rev. Wayne Johnson officiating. Burial is in G.A.R. cemetery at Miami. Pallbearers are nephews: Larry Shafer, William Osburn, Rex Osburn, John Osburn, Mark Osburn, and Danny Crafton. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight at the Paul Thomas funeral home chapel, Miami Oklahoma.
