Rt 1, Miami, died at 2:15 am Monday, Nov 10, 1997, at Seneca Missouri Nursing Home after a long illness. He was 84. Mr. French was born May 9, 1913, at Eureka Springs Arkansas. He had lived in the Miami, Commerce Oklahoma, area for the past 52 years. Mr. French worked in the lead and zinc mines in the Picher Oklahoma, area for 17 years. He was also a self-employed carpenter and farmer. He was a member of the Long Assembly of God Church, southeast of Miami. Mr. French married Nola Bell Reber on Nov 14, 1936, at Columbus Kansas. She survives of the home. Additional survivors include a son, Rick French, Tulsa Oklahoma; a daughter, Carolyn Elliott, Miami; a brother, Barney French, Tulsa; a sister, Ann Bendler, Wyandotte Oklahoma; two grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. The service will be 2 pm Wednesday, at Long assembly of God Church, with the Rev. Floyd Renfro, officiating. Burial will be in G.A.R. cemetery, Miami. Pallbearers will be Marvin Beehler, Jim Bland, Ellis Ray Bryant, Robert Friend, David Glenn and David Wilmoth. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 pm tonight at the Paul Thomas funeral Home, Miami.
