connected with hard rock lead and zinc mines in the district for many years, died Aug 23, 1924, age 34, late Saturday night at his home at Treece Kansas of tuberculosis. He leaves his widow, Mrs. Anna Belle Fleener; one brother, Thomas Fleener; three sisters, Miss Coyla Fleener of Tulsa Oklahoma, Mrs. Grace Nichols of Fort Worth Texas and Mrs. Thomas Hemphill of Long Beach California, and an uncle, Jack Fleener of Joplin Missouri. He was a member of the Elks lodge at Joplin and of Picher Oklahoma post 150, American Legion. He was well known among miners, having served as ground boss at various mines. The funeral will be held from the Methodist church at Treece tomorrow afternoon at 2. The funeral will be in charge of the American Legion and burial Aug 26, 1924, will be in the Edgewood cemetery, north of Columbus Kansas. The Green undertaking company is in charge of the funeral.
