Final rites for Carl "Art" Ferguson, former Tri-State district miner, will be conducted at the Hunter chapel in Picher Oklahoma, at 2 p.m. Sunday. Russell Martin, minister of the First Christian church in Miami, will officiate. Pallbearers will be Ralph Chambers, Allen Robinson, Nelson Weaver, Eddie Miller, J. W. Moreland and John Peace. Burial will be in the Hillcrest cemetery at Galena Kansas. Ferguson died Apr 14, 1954, age 49, in a sanitarium at Norton Kansas, Wednesday night. Before entering the medical center eight years ago, he had lived in the Tri-State area since birth. He was a member of the Christian church in Baxter Springs Kansas, and of the Quapaw Oklahoma Masonic lodge. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Hattie Ferguson, now residing in Norton; two daughters, Mrs. Jack Robinson of Miami and Mrs. Virgil Sidebottom of Norton; a brother, Mack F. Norton of Kansas City Missouri; four sisters, Mrs. Macy Reed of Picher, Mrs. C. T. Scott of Wallace Idaho, and Mrs. Hubert Herrelson and Mrs. Ethel Layman, both of Kansas City Missouri, and two grandchildren.
