Succumbing after a long illness L. B. Durnil, 77 years old, died at a local hospital at 12:45 o'clock this afternoon. He was one of the first business men in Picher Oklahoma and owned considerable real estate. Before coming to Picher, Mr. Durnil was a resident of Monett Missouri, where he was active in politics, served two terms as mayor of Monett and two terms as probate judge of Barry county Missouri. Among his survivors are many prominent citizens of northeastern Oklahoma and southwest Missouri. Until last Saturday, when he was removed to the hospital, Mr. Durnil lived at 116 South Main Street, Picher, at the Ward rooming house, one of his properties. He is survived by a brother, Thomas H. Durnil of Picher; a sister, Mrs. Zonia Graves of Aurora Missouri; a daughter, Mrs. Charles Suttles of Monett; two nephews, J. H. Durnil, postmaster of Picher, and Claude Hayes of Granby Missouri; two nieces, Mrs. Scott Thompson of Welch Oklahoma and Mrs. T. B. Childers of Granby Missouri. Arrangements for the funeral, which will be held in Monett, are incomplete.

The body of L. B. Durnil, 77 years old, who died at a local hospital yesterday afternoon, was sent to his former home at Monett, last night for burial. The funeral will be tomorrow. Mr. Durnil was one of the early residents of Picher. His death was due to a complication of ailments. He had been in poor health for some time.
