Henry C. Duffee 68, year old pioneer Tri-State district mining figure, died at 6:15 o'clock Sunday morning at his home, 22 D Street northwest, Miami. He had been in retirement for the past eight years. He was widely known through-out the mining district as the purchasing agent for Commerce Mining and Royalty Company. He was with the firm for 32 years, prior to retirement. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Kathryn Duffee of the home; one son, Max Duffee, Joplin Missouri; one brother, Virgil Duffee, Miami; one sister, Mrs. John Kin, Dallas Texas; and one grandson. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the First Christian church. The Rev. Russell Martin will officiate. Honorary pallbearers are to be Jim B. Dyer, J. S. Mabon, Dr. W. S. Milligan, Floyd Myers, R. Q. James, J. H. Taylor, Floyd Newton and A. B. Keith, all of Miami; Cecil Bentley, F. H. Goodwin and Dick Jenkins all of Webb City Missouri; and B. F. Shields, Baxter Springs Kansas. Active pallbearers will be George Henley, Grover Dyer, Gib Reynolds and Oren Kimball, all of Miami; and Fred Stricker and Earl Downs, both of Joplin Missouri. Burial will be in G.A.R. cemetery at Miami. Cooper funeral home is in charge.

Henry Duffee, 68 years old Miami resident, died at his home, Sunday morning. He is a retired mining man, having been for 35 years the purchasing agent for the Commerce Mining and Royalty Company. He retired when the Commerce Company sold to the Eagle-Picher Mining and Smelting company eight years ago. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the First Christian church, with the Rev. Russell Martin officiating.
