53 years old, died at 2 this morning at his home, 312 North Netta Street, Picher Oklahoma. Mr. Downing had been in poor health for several months. He was last employed at the Jarrett Mine of the Federal Mining and Smelting Company. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Ella Downing, one brother, Dow Downing of Picher and one sister, Mrs. Eva Myers of Charleston Missouri. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 Friday afternoon at the First Methodist church. The Rev. D. W. Brashear will officiate. Members of the IOOF ledge of Picher will act as pallbearers and will conduct the services at the cemetery. Downing had been a member of the lodge at Leadville Missouri, for the last 33 years. Burial will be in the G.A.R. cemetery at Miami, under the direction of the Todd undertaking company.
