died Jul 16, 1927, age 50, at 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon at his home, 533 South Treece Street, Picher Oklahoma. Death was due to a complication of ailments and resulted after a lingering illness. Mr. Downing for some time was a hard rock lead and zinc ground foreman at Golden Rod Mine No. 5. He was married and besides his wife, Mrs. Mamie Downing, is survived by two brothers, Dow Downing of Picher and Harvey Downing of Poplar Bluff Missouri, and one sister, Mrs. Eva Mars of Charleston Missouri. Funeral services will be held at the First Methodist church at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon with the Rev. Maurice Lyeria, pastor of the Christian church, officiating. Burial will be in the Miami cemetery under direction of the Todd undertaking company.

Funeral services for Edward Downing, who died Thursday, were held at the First Methodist church at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon. Special music was furnished by Mrs. Henry Simons, Mrs. Luther Ballinger, Miss Evelyn Simons, Miss Katherine Nelson, Miss Josephine Nelson, L. T. Reno and Oscar Mitchell. Miss Anna Kerley was accompanist. The Rev. Maurice Lyerla, pastor of the Christian church, officiated. Burial Jun 18, 1927, was in the Miami G.A.R. cemetery. Pallbearers were employees of the Golden Rod Mining Company, for which company Mr. Downing had served as a ground foreman for several years. The funeral was under the direction of the Todd undertaking company.
