died this morning at the Freeman hospital in Joplin Missouri. A former hard rock lead and zinc miner and businessman, he had resided for many years at his home on South Maple Street in Commerce Oklahoma. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Purnie Douthitt; a daughter, Evelyn Douthitt, and a son, Bobby Douthitt, all of the home. The Mitchelson funeral home of Commerce is in charge.

Funeral services for R. L. Douthitt, will be held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon at the First Baptist church in Commerce. The Rev. J. Grover Scales is to officiate. An ex-miner and businessman in Commerce, Douthitt is survived by his wife, Mrs. Purnie Douthitt; one daughter, Evelyn Douthitt, and a son, Bobby Douthitt, all of the home; his mother, three brothers, Walter Douthitt of Shirley Arkansas, Bill Douthitt, Hockerville Oklahoma, and Bryan Douthitt, Kansas City Missouri; and one sister, Mrs. M. F. Emerson, Washington. Burial Jul 21, 1947, will be in G.A.R. cemetery at Miami, under direction of the Mitchelson funeral home.
