retired lead and zinc miner, and resident of Picher Oklahoma for the past forty- four years, died in a Vinita Oklahoma hospital last Thursday. Mr. Dobbins had been active in civic affairs of the community and had served as Chief of Police of Picher and later on the council. He was a member of the Masonic lodge in Carterville Missouri and the I.O.O.F. lodge, No. 596 in Picher. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Willie Dobbins of the home at 429 South Vantage Street and two nephews. Funeral services were held at the Assembly of God church, Monday afternoon, with the Rev. Henry Horn, pastor, officiating, assisted by Rev. Wright. Burial was in the G.A.R. cemetery at Miami, under the direction of the Thomas funeral home. Members of the Picher I.O.O.F. lodge conducted graveside rites. Pallbearers were Martin Rose, Gene Crockett, Jerry Williams, Frank Shuck, Willard Bogard and Wayne Crockett. The body lay in state at the home on South Vantage Street until the funeral hour.
