a retired miner and former Picher Oklahoma barber, died Oct 27, 1951, age 87, Saturday night at his home in Everton Missouri. He had been a resident of Everton since 1945. Mr. Dickinson was born December 20, 1873 in Indiana, moving to Missouri with his parents in 1881. He moved to Picher in 1917 and was employed at the White Lease Mine until 1925. He then owned and operated the Star barber shop in Picher. Mr. Dickinson had been in ill health the past 18 months. Mr. Dickinson was a member of the Everton Baptist church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Viva Ann Dickinson; two sons, Nelson Dickinson of Picher, and Edward Dickinson of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Nona Dunaway, Petaluma California, and Mrs. Helen Ball of Joplin Missouri; a brother, Clark Dickinson, Chanute Kansas; two sisters, Mrs. Myrta Jones and Mrs. Edith Hankins, both of Everton; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon in the First Baptist church of Everton with the Rev. Ira Buffington officiating. Burial was in the Orange cemetery near Aurora, under the direction of the Morton Lundy funeral home of Picher. Pallbearers were nephews, Tom Shelton, George Hankins, Buddy Hankins, Bryon Mason, Roy Mason and Carl Dickinson.
