Baxter Springs Kansas, DeCaney, a hard rock lead and zinc miner, died Nov 22, 1934, age 45, at his home, 605 East Eleventh Street, at 6:30 pm last night, following a seven months' illness. He had lived here for 18 years. DeVaney was born in Bell Center Missouri. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Elsie DeVaney; two daughters, Louise DeCaney and Claudine DeCaney, of the home; four sisters, Mrs. Joe Putman and Mrs. Glenn Smith of Baxter Springs Kansas, Mrs. Maud Hanks of Picher Oklahoma and Mrs. Pearl Rowel of Oklahoma, and three brothers, Foster DeCaney of Kansas City Kansas, A. L. DeCaney of San Diego California and Jack DeCaney of New York City; ten nephews also survive.
