Since N. J. "Dutch" Detchemendy is back on the job at the Blue Goose hard rock lead and zinc mine, "Buck" Sparlin is getting plenty of time to sleep and even finds time to milk the cow occasionally.

Funeral services were incomplete today for N. J. Detchemendy, retired lead and zinc mining supervisor and resident of the Tri-State district for more than 30 years. A longtime employee of the old Commerce Mining and Royalty Company before he retired several years ago, Detchemendy died Oct 3, 1953, age 80, at 10 o'clock Saturday morning at the home of a sister, Mrs. Julia O'Lary, in Pueblo Colorado. He had been visiting there since last May. His home was in Commerce Oklahoma. Other survivors include two sons, Howard Detchemendy of Commerce, and Jim Detchemendy of South Gate California; a daughter, Mrs. E. J. Garlish of Cincinnati Ohio; a brother, R. C. Detchemendy, and another sister, Mrs. Sally Boyd, both of St. Louis, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The body was received by the Cooper funeral home today.

Funeral services for N. J. Detchemendy, 80 year old longtime resident of the Tri-State district, will be conducted at the Sacred Heart Catholic church at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. John A. Newton, pastor, will officiate. Friends from Commerce Oklahoma will act as pallbearers. Burial Oct 7, 1953, will be in the Carterville Missouri cemetery under direction of the Cooper funeral home.
