Funeral services for James S. Dawson, retired construction foreman and resident of the Tri-State district for the last 41 years, will be conducted in the Hunter Mortuary chapel at Picher Oklahoma at 2 p.m. Monday. The Rev. Carl Ricker of Columbus Kansas, will officiate. He will be assisted by the Rev. Gerald Herd of Picher. Mr. Dawson, 82, died at his home, 716 North Alta Street, Picher, Friday. Before he retired several years ago, he was employed as a construction foreman by the Eagle-Picher Company. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Nancy Dawson of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Lottie Gordon, Loveland Colorado; a son, Ed Dawson, living somewhere in Texas; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Mary Hedrick, Blue Springs Missouri, and Mrs. Adna Amess, Stockton Missouri; a stepson, Lonnie Morton, Miami, eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Steve Warmack and Wiley Warmack, William Shouse, Fred Poor, Dick Kirby and Jesse Lee Madden. Burial will be in the Baxter Springs Kansas cemetery.
