Funeral services for Esther Ruth Davis, 16 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Davis, who died Thursday morning at her home, 218 South Netta Street, Picher Oklahoma, will be conducted at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Union church. The Rev. Wesley Post, pastor of the church, will officiate, assisted by the Rev. J. H. Mott, assistant pastor. Burial will be in Baxter Springs Kansas cemetery. The junior class of the high school, of which Esther Ruth was a member, will attend the services in a body. Musical parts of the service, will include two hymns, "No Night There" and "Face to Face," by a high school mixed quartet composed of Thelma Fay Green, Shirley Foster, Roy Eddie Walker and Leroy Roland, and "Sunrise" by the junior choir of the Union church. Flower girls will be Lola Mae Masterson, Edna Fay Grey, Fay Nell Heltzell, Clysta Bryant, Peggy Post, Thelma and Lou Etta Bartlett, Velma Thompson, Katherine Montgomery, Mildred Kerr and Hattie Dean Cook. Active pallbearers will be Earl Bradbury, Leroy Searcy, Alton Caswell, Frank Hammick, John Swango and Billie Cappell. Honorary pallbearers will be Tilford Klinefelter, George Dugan, Charles Masterson, George Evans, George Bailey and Chester Hammick.

Jack Davis, 55 years old pioneer mine operator, died at his home, Third and Netta Street, Picher Oklahoma, at 2 o'clock this morning of a complication of diseases after an illness of two weeks. Mr. Davis was born at Pierce City Missouri, Aug 22, 1884. He was married to Miss Daphne Dale McColough in 1909. He went to Webb City Missouri, Apr 7, 1909 and came to Picher in 1915. For 14 years Davis was employed by the Eagle-Picher Mining and Smelting Company as superintendent of the Bingham Mine and then went on his own. Among other properties he operated was the Davis Big Chief Mine, which he sold about three years ago. Mr. Davis served the city of Picher as mayor one term and several terms as councilman. He was a member of the Central Methodist church and the I.O.O.F. lodge. Surviving are Mrs. Daphne David, wife; two daughters, Mrs. Alice Shogren of Oklahoma City and Mrs. Leila Frankel of Tulsa Oklahoma, and two sons, Jim Davis and Jackie Lee Davis, at home. Funeral services will be held at the Union church Sunday at 3 o'clock in the afternoon, the Rev. Wesley Post, the Rev. J. H. Mott and the Rev. S. Y. Allgood in charge. Active pallbearers will be Henry Craig, Clint Niday, Claude Jones, Clarence Niday, Sug Scofield and Claude Dickerson; honorary pallbearers; Frank Potts, Frank Hills, Henry Austin, Frank Testerman, Bernie Simmons, F. W. Mizer, F. W. Evans, Dr. M. A. Connell, Dr. Richard Russell, George Potter and Walter Novak. Burial will be in the Baxter Springs Kansas cemetery under the direction of the Jack H. Todd funeral home.
