J. L. Jim' Davidson, a retired ground foreman for the Eagle-Picher Mining company, died at 4:05 am today at the Freeman hospital in Joplin. Death followed a three year illness. Mr. Davidson, 78 years old, had resided in Picher for 31 years before moving to 513 East 17th Street, Baxter Springs, about three years ago. He retired from mining work five years ago. Survivors include his wife, Lillie Davidson; a son, Russell Davidson of Lake Charles, La.; a daughter, Mrs. Opal Dungan of Baxter Springs; a granddaughter and a brother, Nine Davidson of Elk City, Kansas. Funeral services will be announced by the Thomas Funeral home, Picher.

Funeral services for J. L. Jim' Davidson, 78 year old retired Eagle-Picher Mining Company ground foreman who died Thursday morning at the Freeman hospital in Joplin Missouri, will be held at the Union church in Picher Oklahoma at 2 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Ralph L. Selleorf, Baxter Springs Kansas, the Rev. Pat Smith and the Rev. J. H. Mott, both of Picher, will officiate. Active pallbearers will be Bob Stroup, Ferrell Williams, August Witzansky, R. B. Walker, Burr L. Aton and Jacob T. Soulen. Burial will be in the Crocker cemetery, four miles east of Pittsburg Kansas, under direction of the Thomas funeral home. Honorary pallbearers include Corbett Garrett, Jim Walsh, E. C. Mabon, S. S. Clark, Frank Cuddeback, William Mizer, Clint Niday, Joe Fare, Harvey Russell, M. F. McCullough, Carl Conrow, E. M. Decker and Miles Landis. The body will lie in state at the family home, 513 East Seventeenth Street in Baxter Springs, until the funeral hour. Davidson was a member of the Masonic lodge in Elk City Kansas.

Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon in the local Union church for J. L. 'Jim' Davidson, who passed away at 4:05 o'clock last Thursday morning in the Freeman hospital at Joplin Missouri. Davidson, an Eagle-Picher foreman for 31 years, was born Apr 14, 1874 in Elk City Kansas and died at the age of 78 years, four months and fourteen days. He resided in Picher for 31 years moving to Baxter Springs Kansas twenty-two ago. He retired as foreman five years ago and had suffered ill health for the past 3 years. He had been a member of the Masonic lodge at Elk City for 56 years. Survivors include one granddaughter, Billie Linn Dungan and one brother, Nine Davidson of Elk City Kansas. The Rev. Ralph Selle of Baxter Springs officiated at the services and was assisted by Rev. J. H. Mott and Pat Smith of Picher. Burial was in the Crocker cemetery at Pittsburg Kansas under the direction of the Thomas funeral home of Picher. Active pallbearers were Bob Stroup, Ferrell Williams, August Witzansky, R. B.
