Jim William Darnell, 46 year old Picher miner, died at 6:45 o'clock this morning at his home, 308 South Emily Street. A resident of Picher for 29 years, he had been in ill health for the past three months. Darnell was employed by the Eagle-Picher Mining and Smelting Company for about 15 years. He was a member of the I. O. O. F. lodge at Picher and the Assembly of God church in Cardin Oklahoma. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. May Darnell; five daughters, Mrs. Geraldine Minyard, Picher, and Jeanene Darnell, Joan Darnell, Janell Darnell and Carol Darnell, all of the home; his father, Levi Darnell, Miami; his mother, Mrs. Lizzie McDonald, Cardin; one brother, George Darnell, Picher; and three sisters, Mrs. Laura Woodcock, and Mrs. May Cox, both of Treece Kansas, and Mrs. Opal Emery, Dearborn Michigan. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at the Assembly of God Church in Cardin. The Rev. Arthur Shawgo and the Rev. G. A. Brannan will officiate. Burial will be in G.A.R. cemetery at Miami, under direction of Goodson-Durnil funeral home.

Funeral services for James W. 'Jim' Darnell, 46 year old Picher miner, will be held at 1:30 o'clock Friday afternoon instead of 2 o'clock as was previously announced. Rites will be conducted in the Assembly of God church in Cardin. Burial will be in G.A.R. cemetery. Goodson-Durnil funeral home is in charge.
