of 308 Mound avenue, in Treece Kansas, died at 3:30 pm, Sunday, Jul 12, 1998, at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin Missouri following an illness. He was 72. Mr. Crossland was born Sep 22, 1925 in Commerce Oklahoma, to Albert Wesley Crossland and Leora Bowers Crossland. He had lived in the Commerce and Treece area most of his life. He was a retired lead and zinc miner. He was a World War II veteran, serving with the United States Army in Burma, China and India. He was member of the Disabled American Veterans in Commerce and the Treece Baptist Church. The service will be held at 2 pm Wednesday, Jul 15, 1998, at the Paul Thomas funeral home of Picher Oklahoma. The Rev. Les Woodcock will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery in Kansas, northwest of Treece. Pallbearers will be Darrell Hart Jr., John Clark III, Justin Clark, Brandon Crossland, Gary Cox and Rick Garrett. Military rites will be conducted by the Northeast Oklahoma Veterans Funeral Detail. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 pm tonight at the Paul Thomas funeral home of Picher.
