Craig, Elmer
Abstract Data
Jack Davis, Elmer Craig and associates have moved a drill rig to a lease of the Jane Chinn Land Company on the old townsite of Prosperity Missouri, and drilling activity will begin immediately in an attempt to locate ore runs from old mines on adjoining properties. This lease joins the old Ten O'clock Mine, the Cumberland Mine, the Lucky Bud Mine and the George H. Mine. Ore was found in these mines at a depth of from 80 to 200 feet. The old mines were among the richest in the field, being located in the heart of a lead belt. Ore sometimes ran as high as 35 percent. With the more modern milling facilities, one could not estimate what to expect on this lease. One shaft on the lease had an 80 foot run of lead.
