Charlie A. Covington, a retired Miami miner and carpenter, died at 12:15 am Sunday at Baptist hospital, where he was admitted 12 hours earlier. He was 63. A Miami resident since 1945, he was a member of the Baptist church and the IOOF lodge. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Dolly Covington, of the home at 136 H northeast, Miami; a son, Alvin Covington, Miami; two daughters, Gwenda Covington, Dallas Texas, and Toni Diane Covington, Hazelton Iowa; his mother, Mrs. Minnie Covington, Baxter Springs Kansas; a sister, Mrs. Stellla Ballenger, Grants New Mexico, and a brother, Freddie Covington, Gallup News Mexico. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm Tuesday in the Cooper chapel with the Rev. Russell Moudy in charge. IOOF rites at graveside in G.A.R. cemetery, at Miami, are planned. Members of the lodge will be pallbearers.
