age 90, of Columbus Kansas, died Jun 8, 2002, in Freeman West hospital of Joplin Missouri, due to injuries suffered in a fall at his home on Monday, Jun 3, 2002. Born Jun 8, 1912, at Jan Missouri to William P. Cossairt and Clara Mae Loper Cossairt. He married Juanita Gertrude Bash on Dec 17, 1933, she died Jan 24, 2000. He moved to Baxter Springs Kansas with is dad at about the age of 10. He worked for Carmac Dairy, Baxter in the early 1930's delivering milk in a horse drawn delivery wagon. Later, he worked in the mills for the local mines. He was very successful as the youngest float man in the mining area, and had many stories of that era. This was his job during World War II. In 1945, the family moved to a farm in rural Columbus Kansas, and he worked many years in construction helping build the Columbus courthouse and highway bridges in Kansas. The last 30 years of his life were devoted to caring for his wife, Juanita Cossairt. Due to his care, they were able to stay at home together until the last few months of her life. He is survived by six children, 20 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by is parents, his wife, four brothers, two sisters, one grandchild and one great-grandchild. Murdock funeral home, Columbus. Burial in the Lowell Kansas cemetery.
