A hard rock lead and zinc miner and Cardin Oklahoma resident for several years, Otto W. Cooper, died May 7, 1954, age 48, at 5:30 am today, at Picher Oklahoma hospital following an extended illness. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Meda Cooper, of the home, located a mile west of Cardin; two sons, Lloyd Wayne Cooper and Larry Eugene Cooper, both of the home; four daughters, Mrs. Lorene Jeffery and Mrs. Louis Stebbins, both of Cardin Oklahoma; Leonara Jean Cooper and Linda May Cooper, both of the home; two sisters, Mrs. Maggie Stryken, who lives in Colorado, and Mrs. Ruby Lewellyn, Fredonia Kansas; a brother, Otis Cooper, of Wichita Kansas, and five grandchildren. The body was received by the Cooper funeral home of Miami. Arrangements for final rites were incomplete this afternoon.

Final rites for Otto W. Cooper, Cardin miner who died Friday following a long illness, will be held Monday morning at 11 at the Cardin Baptist church. The Rev. Junior Couch will officiate. Men who worked with Cooper at the W M & W Mine will be pallbearers. They are Paul Olds, Howard Leatherman, Leon Marcus, Raymond Harper, Walter Marshall and Lee Anderson. Burial May 10, 1954, will be at the G.A.R. cemetery, at Miami, under direction of the Cooper funeral home, Miami.
