Compton, Jesse D.

Jess Compton, 71 year old Commerce resident and former district miner, died at 10 o'clock this morning at his home, 800 East Commerce Street. He had lived in Commerce for 27 years. Compton is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Maude Bilderback, Commerce, and Mrs. Kenneth Trimble, Baxter Springs Kansas; and one grandson, Harold Bilderback of the home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Mitchelson Funeral home chapel. The Rev. Wallace L. McDonald will officiate. Burial will be in G.A.R. cemetery at Miami, under direction of Mitchelson funeral home.
