69 years old, died at 4:10 Saturday morning at the Picher Oklahoma hospital, following a stroke at his home at 208 South Frisco Street, Picher, Friday morning. He was a hard rock lead and zinc miner, and was born in Pike county Missouri. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Adeline Collins; three sons, Paul Collins and Carl Collins of Picher and Charles Collins of Kansas City; four stepsons, Forest Evans of Picher, Rawleigh Evans of Waynesville, and Harry Evans and Merle Evans of Pontiac Michigan; four stepdaughters, Mrs. Jewel Simmons, Mrs. Ruby Burt and Mrs. Goldie Vanderpool of Pontiac Michigan and Mrs. Mary Hopper of Quapaw Oklahoma, two brothers, Jim Collins of Sapulpa Oklahoma and John Collins of Nebo Illinois; three sisters; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at 10:30 Monday morning at the Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Henry Horn, officiating. Burial was in the G.A.R. cemetery, at Miami, under the direction of the Thomas funeral home. Pallbearers were Armour McGuire, Lee Stewart, Rev. Lum Slavins, Rev. Sterling Jackson, Horace Daniels, Zilas Trentham, Martin Thompson and John Garrison.
