Abstract Data

47, a district lead and zinc miner for 30 years, died at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at his home, 305 North Main Street, Commerce Oklahoma. He had been in failing health several months before his condition became critical four days ago. Clevenger moved to Commerce 13 years ago from Cherokee county Kansas. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary Opal Clevenger; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Clevenger of Oswego Kansas; a sister, Mrs. Ora Jacobs, of Oswego Rt 1; and two brothers, Oral Clevenger of Lee Summit Missouri, and Howard Clevenger of Oswego. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Roberson-Hunter chapel, Picher Oklahoma. The Rev. Raymond Sikes will officiate. Interment will be in the McKee cemetery, northwest of Hallowell Kansas. Pallbearers will be Bill Kiser, Bill Guinn, Evan Newcomb, Vernon Allen, Clifford Cox and Ray Taylor. The body will lie in state at the chapel until the funeral hour.
