John B. Clanton, of 622 C Street SE, died at his home at 2 pm Wednesday after a long illness. He was a veteran of World War II and is a retired Eagle- Picher Company miner and ground boss. A member of the Baptist church, Mr. Clanton is survived by his wife, Mrs. Bertha Mae Clanton; a daughter, Mrs. Reatha DeBurg of Phoenix, Arizona; two step-sons, Gene Keen and Walter Keen, both of Miami; his mother, Mrs. Sarah Ann Clanton Kansas City Missouri; two brothers, Delmar Clanton and Logan Clanton, both of Davenport, Iowa; three sisters, Mrs. Neta Manes and Mrs. Marie Pipping, both of Kansas City Missouri, and Mrs. Daisy Dykeman, Shreveport, Louisiana, and seven grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm Saturday in the Cooper mortuary chapel with the Rev. Russell Moudy in charge. Burial May 25, 1963, will be in G.A.R. cemetery at Miami. Veterans of Foreign Wars will be pallbearers and will conduct graveside rites.
