Elmer E. Cherry, 58 years old, 208 North Maple Street, died Friday morning in the Veterans' hospital, Muskogee Oklahoma, where he had been a patient since Sunday. Mr. Cherry moved to Commerce in 1917. He was a retired miner and was a member of the southeast Baptist church and veteran of World War II and a past noble grand of the IOOF. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Lillie Cherry; a sister, Mrs. Margaret Borchardt, Travis Air Force Base, California; a brother, Wylie Cherry, Miami; a half brother, George Cherry, Carthage Missouri; and a half sister, Mrs. Goldie Huff, Joplin Missouri.
