A hard rock lead and zinc miner, who had lived at North Century Oklahoma, for 30 years, succumbed at Miami Baptist hospital Saturday morning shortly after suffering a heart attack. A horse racing enthusiast, he was stricken at the Fairgrounds in Miami while caring for a horse he planned to enter in next week's track meet. The 64 year old retired lead and zinc miner is survived by his wife, Lola Charles, of the home; a son, Otis Charles, Jr., Boran California; two daughters, Mrs. Nadine Cawyer and Mrs. Betty Peterson, both of Picher Oklahoma, and four grandchildren. The body was received by the Thomas funeral home. Arrangements for final rites were incomplete tonight.
