of Treece Kansas underwent an operation yesterday at the office of Dr. I. Phillips in connection with an infected lung. Following the operation he was removed to his home in a Todd ambulance.

Walter Chapman, about 30 years old, died at 6 o'clock this morning at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Chapman, living in the south part of Treece. Death followed a long illness, being attributed to lung trouble. In addition to his parents, Chapman is survived by his wife and a number of other relatives. He worked in the mines for some time prior to being taken ill. Funeral arrangements were incomplete today. The body is at the parlors of the Todd undertaking company.

Walter Chapman, 26 years old, died yesterday morning at the home of a sister, Mrs. Clarence Walker, in the south part of Treece. Death was due to lung trouble and followed a long illness. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Anita Chatman; the parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Chatman of Treece; four sisters, Mrs. Charles Whited of Carterville Missouri, Mrs. David Myers, Mrs. Clarence Walker and Mrs. Guy Fesperman of Treece, and one brother, Glenwood Chatman of Treece. Funeral services will be conducted at the Treece Methodist church at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon with Paul Purcell of Chetopa Kansas, officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery in Kansas, northwest of Picher Oklahoma. The funeral will be under direction of the Todd undertaking company.
