a resident of the Tri-State district for the past 65 years, died Dec 20, 1956, age 84, at 10:30 a. m. today in a rest home at Miami. His home was at 709 South Ottawa Street, Picher Oklahoma. Mr. Carnel, was a retired farmer and teamster. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Daisy Carnel of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Clara Martin, Miami, and Mrs. Grace Shannon, Edwards Colorado; a son, Earl Carnel, Globe Arizona, and two stepsons, Daniel Atwell, Rock Island Washington, and William Penny of the home. Arrangements for services and burial will be announced by the Thomas funeral home.

Final rites for Solomon Madison Carnel, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the Thomas mortuary in Picher. The Rev. G. E. Elswick will officiate. Pallbearers will be Jack Stacy, Willie Dexter, Jack Redden, Andrew Tannehill, Bert Thomas, and Ellis Harmon. Burial Dec 24, 1956, will be in G.A.R. cemetery, at Miami. Mr. Carnel, 84, died in a Miami rest home Thursday. His home was at 709 South Ottawa Street in Picher.
