Arthur E. Campbell, 80, of 221 South Cedar Street, Commerce, died Sunday in Miami Baptist hospital, where he had been a patient since Monday. Born March 31, 1888, at Lowry City Missouri. Mr. Campbell had been a Commerce resident for 60 years. Before retirement, he was a superintendent for the old McArthur Mining Company. He was a member of the First Baptist church, Commerce. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Martha Campbell of the home; five sons, Roy Campbell of Pleasant Hill Missouri, Benny Campbell of Jefferson City Missouri, J. L. Campbell of Tinley Park Illinois, A. E. "Monk" Campbell, principal of Miami's Will Rogers junior high school, and Lawrence Campbell, Commerce; six daughters, Mrs. Mildred Lemaster of Owensboro Kentucky, Mrs. Joe Anne Hinds of Gonzales Louisiana, Mrs. Jewel Smith and Mrs. Maxine Cochran, both of Tulsa Oklahoma, Mrs. June Hunter of Miami and Mrs. Juanita Nunn, Commerce; 32 grandchildren and nine great- grand-children. A brother, Constable Cal Campbell of Commerce, was killed in the mid-1930s near Commerce by Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker, of Bonnie and Clyde fame.
