Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm Wednesday in the Cooper funeral home chapel with the Rev. Grant Asher officiating. Pallbearers will be Earl Rose, Louis Rose, Leonard Rose, Lawrence Rose, Bill Rose and Dean Rose, all of Alba Missouri. Burial Jul 15, 1964, will be in the G.A.R. cemetery at Miami.

Kern A. Byrd, of Alba Missouri, died at 10:35 pm Sunday at Miami Baptist Hospital. He had resided for the past six months with a daughter, Mrs. Claudine Hall, 1312 North Main. A resident of Picher before moving to Alba, Mr. Byrd was a mill foreman for the Vinegar Hill-Barr Mine and Hartley Grantham Mine firms before his retirement. He was a Methodist. Surviving are two sons, Darrell Byrd and Claude Byrd, both of Cottonwood, California; two daughters, Mrs. Bonnie Turnbull, Whitemore California, and Mrs. Hall; a brother, Jon Earl Byrd, Kingman Arizona; three sisters, Mrs. Forrest Byrd and Mrs. Fern Webster, both of Richland Missouri; and Mrs. Fairy Weir, Springfield Missouri; 17 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. The body was received by the Cooper funeral home.
