died Jan 17, 1939, age 57, at 2 pm Tuesday at his home, 403 North Treece Street, Picher Oklahoma. He had been ill about six months. Mr. Burk had been a resident of Picher for 18 years, during which time he was employed as an ore hauler. Surviving are a daughter, Miss Velma Burk; three sons, Jack Burk and George Burk of the home, and Raymond Burk of Treece Kansas; three brothers, Elman Burk of Detroit, Michigan, J. O. Burk of Detroit and Truman Burk of Joplin Missouri. Funeral services will be conducted at the First Baptist church at 10 am Thursday. The Rev. C. E. Bergen of Miami will officiate, assisted by the Rev. W. A. Evans, pastor of the church. Burial Jan 19, 1939, will be in Fairview cemetery at Joplin, at which time Masonic rites will be conducted by Picher lodge No. 478, A.F. & A. of which Mr. Burk was a member. The funeral is in charge of the Durnil funeral home.
