Abstract Data

Anthony F. Bruce, A long time resident of Picher, died Jul 24, 1952, age 71, at a Miami rest home. He was born March 5, 1881, at Lawrence Kansas. He was a former hoisterman with the Eagle-Picher Company, having retired in 1930 because of ill health. He had been a resident of Picher for 37 years and was a past chancellor of the Knights of Pythias lodge. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. June Andrews, Galena Kansas, Rt 2, and two sisters, Mrs. Agnes Potter of Liberty Missouri, and Mrs. Babe Evans of Los Angeles California. Funeral services will be conducted in the Roberson-Hunter funeral home chapel in Picher at 2 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. R. J. Palmer will officiate. Burial Jul 28, 1952, will be in Oak Hill cemetery at Galena. Members of the Knights of Pythias will serve as pallbearers. The body will lie in state at the funeral home until the burial hour.
