an employee of the Picher Mine Company, was struck by an automobile Saturday evening, and knocked down. Fortunately the machine did not hit the man direct, but was struck by the guard over the front wheel, and aside from the scare, and a cut lip and a few marks on the chin he escaped serious injury. The machine belonged to Dr. J. T. Wharton and was driven by the Rev. J. T. Walsh of the Methodist church.
