Brookshire, Cecil Henry


Abstract Data

a former Picher Oklahoma resident, died May 2, 1935, age 24, last Thursday, at Albuquerque New Mexico, where he had been for some time for the benefit of his health. Death was due to tuberculosis and followed a long illness. Brookshire lived in Picher a number of years, during which time he worked as a hard rock lead and zinc miner. He was last employed at the Rialto Mine. Surviving relatives include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Brookshire, living six miles northeast of Welch Oklahoma; four brothers, and one sister. Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon at the Assembly of God church with the pastor, the Rev. J. O. Highfill, officiating. Pallbearers included former fellow workmen at the Rialto Mine. They were: Pete Creek, Clifford Carter, Jim Perry, Clifford Howard, Pete Perry and Paul Thomas. Burial was May 8, 1935, in G.A.R. cemetery at Miami under direction of the Thomas funeral home of Welch.
