formerly of Picher Oklahoma and a pioneer resident of the Picher district, died Nov 18, 1927, age 70. He died unexpectedly last Friday night at the home of a daughter residing at Medfore Oregon. Death was due to heart disease. Mr. Britten lived in the Picher district and at Webb City Missouri, 33 years, going to Oregon recently for a visit. He was well known throughout the district, having spent many years as a hard rock lead and zinc mill builder. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Ida Britten; four daughters, Mrs. Bert Lowery and Mrs. M. F. Gupton of Medford Oregon, Mrs. L. Skaggs of Modesta, California, and Mrs. Frank Keiser of Dennison Texas, and three sons, J. C. Britten of Baxter Springs Kansas and J. O. Britten and Ben H. Britten of Commerce. The body of Mr. Britten will be returned to Commerce Oklahoma for burial. Funeral services will be held at the Methodist church in Commerce at 1 o'clock Friday afternoon. Burial will be Nov 25, 1927, in the Webb City cemetery.
