who had worked as a conductor on Eagle-Picher Company ore trains for 20 years, died at Miami Baptist hospital at 5:20 pm Wednesday after a seven weeks' illness. Boyd, 62, had resided at 1729 North Main Street. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Florence Boyd; two sons, Clifford "Bud" Boyd of Muskogee Oklahoma, and James Boyd of Miami; two daughters, Mrs. Peggie Rector of Omaha Nebraska, and Mrs. Helen Swafford of Covina California; seven grandchildren, four brothers, Percy Boyd of Miami, Ralph Boyd of Afton, Herbert Boyd of Festus Missouri, and Wayne Boyd of Mexico Missouri, and three sisters, Mrs. Osgood Hubbard of Festus Missouri, Mrs. Blair Flegal of Roswell New Mexico, and Mrs. Ila Keith of St. Louis. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Friday at the First Baptist church. The Rev. Victor Cooper will officiate. Pallbearers will be Don Jackson, Cecil Mitchell, Charley Stine, Jim Wright, Homer Williams and Oliver Davis. Burial will be in G.A.R. cemetery at Miami, under direction of the Cooper funeral home.
