Box, Leo Benjamin

age 77, of Commerce, died at Overland Park Kansas Regional hospital. Paul Thomas funeral home, Picher Oklahoma.

Born May 20, 1923, in Picher Oklahoma to Lennie R. Box and Bessie Davis Box. A retired miner and maintenance man. He married Virginia Hance on Jan 17, 1947, at Columbus Kansas. She survives. Additional survivors include a daughter and her husband, Mary Lou Sample and Mike Sample, Lenexa Kansas; two grandchildren, Curtis Sample and Emily Sample, both of Lenexa; a brother, J. C. Box, Treece Kansas; and a sister Lawanda Jeffery, Picher Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers Carl Box and Dick Box; and a sister, Arawana Leary. Service at Paul Thomas funeral home, Picher, with Bill Richey and Michael Frazier, Sr., officiating.. Pallbearers include Ralph Mullen, Jimmie Mullen, Gene Hulsey, Bill Brumley, Lonnie Stogsdill, and Bob Baine. Burial in G.A.R. cemetery, Miami.
