Blanton, Henry

Abstract Data

Fire destroyed the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Blanton on the Picher- Cardin Oklahoma highway at 10 this morning with an estimated loss of $2,500, partly covered by $1,600 insurance. The three-room frame house was valued at $1,000 and the furniture, which included a piano, at $1,500. Firemen arrived at the conflagration too late to quench the flames and were handicapped with a limited supply of water. Mr. Blanton, an electrician at one of the Evans-Wallower Mine, was at work and Mrs. Blanton had gone to the Picher post-office in her car when the fire started. Mrs. Blanton said she left a moderate fire in a coal heating stove.
