43 years old, died at the home of his sister, Mrs. Edna Furgerson, early Sunday morning, he had been ill for three weeks. Black had been a resident of Baxter Springs Kansas and vicinity all of his life. He was a driller in the mining field. He is survived by one son, William Black of Baxter Springs; One brother, Harry Black of Baxter Springs; two sisters, Mrs. Furgerson of Baxter Springs and Mrs. Susie Baumann of Wyandotte Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon in the chapel of the Harvey undertaking company. The Rev. George H. Jones will officiate. Pallbearers will be S. A. Douthit, W. B. Douthit, B. W. Patton, Wayman Fain, Charles Thompson, John Thompson and Bob Thompson. Burial will be in the Baxter Springs cemetery.
